❌ Stop Chasing the “Perfect” Job. After years of working across different companies and sectors, I can tell you:

There is no such thing as the perfect job.

✅ You create it for yourself.

👉 The real question isn’t, “Where’s the perfect role?”
It’s:
💡 How much independence do I want?
💡 How much freedom do I need ?
💡 How much money do I actually need to live my life?
💡 Where do I want my career to go long-term?
💡 What is the ideal situation, work from home 3 days, 2 days at office or site
💡 Autonomy at work you do, do you have or need a manager
💡 Are you dealing with clients directly or others
💡 THE MORE INDEPENDENCE YOU WANT,
💡 THE MORE YOU NEED TO DO, THEN LESS FREEDOM YOU HAVE.

My honest advice:

1️⃣ When you’re younger, experiment. You cannot read it in a book and understand what it is like, you have to Live it..
2️⃣ Small, medium, large companies try them all.
3️⃣ What I experienced was that Small to medium businesses: You’ll learn a lot, wear many hats, and build real skills.
4️⃣  The Medium-sized growing companies (500–1000+ staff) are the best
5️⃣ These have always been the most exciting for me constant growth, constant opportunity.
6️⃣ Large corporates: Great for structure and benefits but not always as progressive, but great for later part of your career.

I have personally found American multinationals stand out here they demand a lot but also invest heavily in people. One company I always recommend having on your bucket list is Fluor or Bechtel which was Construction, project management, career pathways they set a real standard.

VERY VERY BIG and have everything that opens and shuts, but you need to perform to stay on and you have to be willing to move where ever they tell you to go.

But again:

✅ Don’t fixate on one company or one career path.
✅ Focus on building skills and growing your value.
✅ Let the opportunities find you through what you can do.

You’ll often get tapped on the shoulder for roles if you become known in your sector. You won’t always need to apply!

For international engineers:

It’s not about “local experience.” It’s about cost, trust, and value.
Employers will start you lower, then move you up once they see what you can do.
That’s normal don’t take it personally.

And remember:

Work is just one part of life.
Have your hobbies, your passions, your sports, your investing, your family and friends.
Put energy into what matters to you that’s how you really create a fulfilling career and life.

I’ll end on this:

Follow your Heart more then your head, build your skills, and stay flexible.

That’s where real career success comes from.
