One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that most graduates don’t actually fail.
They simply stop too soon.
A graduate might reach out to 20 companies over two weeks and conclude:
❌ “There are no opportunities.”
What they don’t see is that many engineering projects take months to be approved.
Many managers don’t know what resources they’ll need next quarter.
Many opportunities simply don’t exist yet.
The graduate interprets silence as rejection.
The manager is often just waiting for more certainty.
This is why timing matters.
If you speak with a manager today, there is every chance the real opportunity appears 2–4 months from now.
The question is:
Will they remember you when it does?
The graduates who secure work are often the ones who stay visible long enough for opportunity and timing to finally meet.
Patience isn’t passive.
Patience is continuing to move forward while everyone else gives up.
✅ Stay visible.
✅ Stay professional.
✅ Stay in contact.
✅ Keep learning.
Many opportunities arrive much later than people expect.
