Some Graduates have been contacting me about whom to join, so some of my graduates have been getting a few offers from clients. However, the graduates have been doing their due diligence and implying that the company is only five years old and may not be a strong option for long term employment.
So in this situation, I always advise graduates to study the financials of a company or their pipeline of work is a good idea; it’s not always easy to do with little or no experience and also, most times you will not know unless they’re a public company.
So for me, I keep it simple.
I look at what projects they have or are willing to disclose in a meeting, then I meet the staff they have on the projects if they let me, and then I focus on the work they want me to do.
The only Option most have is the work they offer you.
From here I decide on whether I can complete the work they offer me & whether I can work with the people I have to report to, from my experience, working with all sorts of different people is half the fun; So if I like the team and work, I jump on board and hope to grow with the company.
All the best, Mark Healy, the Graduate Coach
