If someone offers you a role you simply do not want, Say No.
Write something like
I appreciate the offer; however, at this stage, I have committed myself to another position, thanks again etc.
Customise it to suit, but do not justify your answer
The reason you need to do this is simple.
1. You are respecting your ability to choose, and you believe in yourself
2. If, however, you take a role, guess what you do?
You immediately keep looking for a new role, constantly trying to be interviewed etc., and it is exhausting, so why not say NO
Plus, the benefit is two-fold
1. Someone who wants the role will take it and enjoy it
2. And you get a kick out of saying no and feel more empowered
Do not overcomplicate securing work, you do not need to pick from what’s on offer on LinkedIn, Seek and Indeed; you can choose to do it in a more proactive way, that is networking
All the best and have a great weekend, Mark Healy, the Graduate Coach.
