Many international engineering graduates are currently working in:

• Other casual or survival roles
There is absolutely no shame in doing what is necessary to pay your rent and support yourself.
But do not become so accustomed to your current situation that you stop fighting for the profession you worked so hard to enter.
Engineering can provide:
• Better long-term income
• Safer and more secure employment
• Technical development
• Career progression
• Greater responsibility
• More professional independence
• Opportunities across many different industries
You may not receive all these benefits in your first graduate role.
Your first role is simply the beginning.
But to reach that beginning, you must do more than upload resumes and send superficial LinkedIn messages.
You must prepare.
You must speak with people.
You must follow up.
You must allow employers to see your interest, your ability and your sincerity.
Your current job may be helping you survive.
Your professional career can help you build your future.
