For over TEN years, I have worked with graduate engineers in all disciplines and successfully helped hundreds per annum succeed in securing full-time work so they can permanently stay in Australia.
Typical Disciplines in engineering I have worked with and secured work in
NOTE:
Project and construction management happens later in your career, I will explain this later.
Your bachelor’s degree dictates the roles you should be aiming for, YOU should not be applying for construction and project management roles.
So have this tattooed on your chest or arm or somewhere so that when you are in the mirror every day it can be read by you.
RULE 1
15% is Advertised when the market is strong
85% is through references
So get (15/85) tattooed somewhere backward on your body so you and all your friends know the truth.
During COVID, the 15% plummeted to 0%, but many graduates still secured work through networks (references)
RULE 2:
The next major rule to know, based on some simple math I suspect the Graduate programs in total equate to
<15% of the total number of Graduates, per annum.
RULE 3: (most important rule)
You don’t need a Graduate program as such, you need to get solid work experience that has a future.
RULE 4: Do not waste too much time online, it’s been proven by tens of thousands of people per annum, for decades that it does not work as well, which is why there are so many overqualified UBER DRIVERS and Fast food delivery people, etc.
RULE 5: Accept it and move on, do not be stubborn.
